- Have a good start to the day
How you feel in the morning affects how you feel at work for the rest of the day. Do something in the morning that puts you in a good mood. Make yourself a good breakfast or take a few minutes to savor your coffee or tea without thinking about something else. Put on your favorite music and engage in some kind of physical activity – a short walk, yoga, or your favorite workout.

You don’t need to do anything huge. Just grab your colleague their favorite beverage when you get your coffee, compliment their new outfit, or ask if they need help on a project.
- Make fewer decision
Making dozens of decisions daily can quickly make you feel exhausted and less productive. But here is the trick – put some parts of your day on autopilot. If it doesn’t have a high impact on yourself and you don’t have a strong opinion about it, then you shouldn’t spend much energy on that particular thing. An example is having the same thing for breakfast or lunch for a week.
- Make progress and acknowledge it
One of the most motivating factors at work is when you feel like you are moving forward and making progress. Break down your big plan into smaller steps and put them down on your list. Cross them every time you complete the task. At the end of the day, take a minute to go back to your list and acknowledge the progress you made.
You don’t have to make a drastic change to see an improvement at your job. Just a few small changes here and there will be the transformation you need.
